Parents of teen involved in Pune car accident, another man sent to 14-day judicial custody

Pune. The parents of the teenager and another accused involved in the Porsche car accident case in Kalyani Nagar, Pune were sent to 14-day judicial custody by a court here. The police custody period of these three had ended. Investigation is being conducted against his father Vishal and mother Shivani Agarwal and middleman Ashpak Makandar for allegedly changing the blood samples of the teenager.

The teen’s blood sample was to be collected to ascertain whether he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident on May 19. Makandar is accused of acting as a middleman between the Agarwal couple and doctors at Sassoon Hospital, where blood samples are collected in such cases. It is alleged that the teen’s blood sample was replaced with that of his mother Shivani Agarwal. The couple and Makandar were produced before an additional sessions judge.

The prosecution had requested that the juvenile’s parents be sent to judicial custody but Makandar be handed over to police custody for three more days. According to the prosecution, investigations have revealed that the juvenile had met his parents before his blood samples were replaced and the police want to investigate this aspect. The defence counsel opposed this request.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court sent the teenager’s parents and Makandar to 14-day judicial custody.
Two IT professionals, Aneesh Awadhiya (24) and Ashwini Koshta (24), were killed when a Porsche car allegedly driven by a 17-year-old juvenile hit their motorcycle in the Kalyani Nagar area here.
