New Delhi. Filmmaker Payal Kapadia’s film ‘All We Imagine as Light’ has received five nominations at the 17th edition of ‘Asia Pacific Screen Awards’. The film ‘All We Imagine as Light’ received the Grand Prix Award at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. The Asia Pacific Screen Academy has announced the nominations, which include 31 films from 23 countries and territories in Asia Pacific, a press release said.
It was reported that ‘All We Imagine as Light’, the first Indian film to win the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, has been nominated for the top honors of Best Director and Best Screenplay for Kapadia along with Best Film.
Actress Kani Kusruti was given the award for best acting and Ranbir Das was given the award for best cinematography.
The film ‘All We Imagine as Light’, directed by Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha, is the story of two nurses from Kerala, Prabha and Anu, who live together in Mumbai. The name of the film in Malayalam is ‘Prabhay Ninachathelam’. The ‘Asia Pacific Screen Awards’ aims to ‘honor the outstanding performances of cinema from the 78 countries and territories of Asia Pacific and the films that best reflect their cultural origins and the diversity of the vast region.
