The Islamic calendar has 12 months and Dhul Hijri is its last month. The festival of Eid ul Azha or Bakrid is celebrated on the tenth day of this month, which comes 70 days after the end of the month of Ramadan.

Bakra Eid is celebrated with great pomp and show at the global level. Sacrifice has been given great importance in Islam. According to the Quran, it is said that once Allah wanted to test Hazrat Ibrahim.

He ordered Hazrat Ibrahim to sacrifice his most beloved thing to him. Hazrat Ibrahim loved his son Hazrat Ismail the most. After Allah’s order, Hazrat Ibrahim told this to his son Hazrat Ismail.

Let us tell you, Hazrat Ibrahim was blessed with a child at the age of 80. After which it was very difficult for him to sacrifice his son. But Hazrat Ibrahim chose Allah’s order over the love for his son and decided to sacrifice his son.

Hazrat Ibrahim, in the name of Allah, put a knife on his son’s throat. But when he opened his eyes, he saw that his son was standing alive beside him and in his place, a goat-like animal was lying slaughtered. After which the tradition of sacrificing in the name of Allah began.

Muslims all over the world celebrate this day with great devotion. On this day, first of all, take a bath in the morning and offer prayers to Allah. After that wear clean and traditional clothes.

Then the elders of the family should go to the mosque to offer prayers and express their gratitude to Allah after performing all the rituals of sacrifice. Then wish their loved ones and relatives. After that give food and new clothes to the needy. Elders should give Eidi to their younger ones, which is considered one of the most important rituals of this festival.
