Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Sunday felicitate 11 lakh new ‘lakhpati didis’ in Jalgaon, Maharashtra, who have achieved this milestone during his third term. A statement issued on Saturday said that Modi will also announce a fund of Rs 2,500 crore, which will benefit 4.3 lakh self-help groups with about 48 lakh members.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister will distribute bank loans worth Rs 5,000 crore, which will benefit 25.8 lakh members of 2.35 lakh self-help groups. The statement said that since the launch of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, one crore women have joined this category. The government aims to create three crore Lakhpati Didis. The scheme gives a target to a member of a self-help group to earn one lakh rupees annually.
PM Modi will also visit Rajasthan, where he will attend a function of the Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur as the chief guest. Modi will also inaugurate the High Court Museum.
