New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the US for three days from September 21 to attend the annual ‘Quad’ summit and address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly. Announcing the Prime Minister’s visit, the Ministry of External Affairs said that Modi will attend the ‘Quad’ leaders’ summit in Wilmington, Delaware on September 21, which will be hosted by US President Joe Biden. This year it was India’s turn to host the Quad summit.
The ministry said, “Following the US request to host the Quad summit this year, India has agreed to host the next Quad summit in 2025.” The Ministry of External Affairs said, “At the Quad Summit, the leaders (of the four member countries of the group) will review the progress achieved by the Quad in the last one year and set the agenda for cooperation in helping the countries of the Indo-Pacific region meet their development goals and aspirations.” The ministry said that Prime Minister Modi will address the ‘Summit of the Future’ on September 23 at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. In New York, the Prime Minister will address the Indian community on September 22.
The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement, “The Prime Minister will also interact with CEOs of leading US companies to promote extensive cooperation between the two countries in cutting-edge areas of AI (artificial intelligence), quantum computing, semiconductors and biotechnology.” The statement said that Modi will also interact with experts and other active stakeholders in the India-US bilateral scenario.
