Indore: President Draupadi Murmu arrived in Indore on Wednesday evening as part of her two-day visit to Madhya Pradesh. Governor Mangu Bhai Patel and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav received her at the city’s Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport and welcomed her by presenting a bouquet.
Officials said that President Murmu left from the airport for the state government’s Mriganyani Textile Emporium, where she will see the traditional handloom products of the state and interact with saree weavers. He said that on Thursday, the President will visit the Jyotirlinga at Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain and visit “Shri Mahakal Lok” and interact with the sculptors of this complex.
Officials said that the President will not only talk to Safai Mitras (cleaning workers) in this religious city but will also honour them. They said that the President will also perform the Bhoomi Pujan of the proposed Ujjain-Indore six-lane road.
Officials said that the President will come to Indore from Ujjain on Thursday to attend the Diamond Jubilee Convocation of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya. The university, established in 1964 by the Madhya Pradesh government, is completing its 60 years this year.
