Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has said that Mahatma Gandhi’s dream was that the tribal community should join the mainstream of development and progress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fulfilling these dreams of Mahatma Gandhi. Chief Minister Sai said these things while joining virtually on the occasion of the inauguration of Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan.
It is noteworthy here that on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand for the upliftment of the tribal areas and tribes of the country. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai participated in this program virtually from Rajpur of Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. On this occasion, the Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of the tribal community of Chhattisgarh for the nationwide launch of the said campaign and said that the tribal communities of Chhattisgarh will also benefit from this and there will be a new change in their lives.
Chief Minister Sai said that through Dharti Aaba Tribal Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan, steps have been taken for the welfare of more than 65 thousand villages and more than 5 crore tribal people by making a provision of Rs 80 thousand crores. This will benefit the population of 47 lakh living in 6691 villages located in 138 development blocks of 32 districts of Chhattisgarh. He said that today is a day of pride for Chhattisgarh and Jashpur district that the Prime Minister has invited Mankunwar Bai, a tribal woman from Bagicha block of Jashpur district, in his program for talks.
Chief Minister Sai said that the Prime Minister announced the Swachh Bharat Mission on August 15, 2014 and got toilets constructed in every house. He linked it to the respect of women. These toilets are known as Izzat Ghar in many states. He said that former Prime Minister of the country Atal Vihari Vajpayee created a separate state for the development of tribal society and formed a separate Tribal Ministry and Scheduled Tribe Commission.
Chief Minister Sai, we all remained associated with the campaign from 17th September to 2nd October through Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada. He appealed to the people to make cleanliness a habit and said that we should also keep the environment around us clean. He said that the Prime Minister was concerned about the extremely backward and especially backward tribes and through the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana, people are being benefited from basic facilities like roads, electricity, water, health, education and other welfare schemes in the tribal areas.
Chief Minister Sai said that as soon as our government took oath, it started working for the welfare of the poor of the state from the next day. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 18 lakh houses were approved, the amount of which has now started coming into the accounts of the beneficiaries and construction of houses has started. He said that our government purchased 21 quintals of paddy per acre at Rs 3100 per quintal, increased the amount of outstanding bonus of two years of paddy and tendu leaves per standard bag from Rs 4 thousand to Rs 5500. Funds are being given to the accounts of 70 lakh women of the state through Mahtari Vandan Yojana. Within the last 9 months, important work was done towards Modi’s guarantee.
MP Chintamani Maharaj said in his address that the Chief Minister is working for the upliftment of the tribal community as well as the special backward tribe community under the PM Janman Yojana. The government is taking positive steps for the upliftment of tribes. The program was also addressed by Samaritan MLA Mrs. Uddeshwari Paikra. During this, District Incharge and Minister of Women and Child Development Department, Mrs. Lakshmi Rajwade, MLA Prabodh Minj, Rajesh Aggarwal, Mrs. Shakuntala Porte, Youth Commission Chairman Vishwa Vijay Singh Tomar and other public representatives and common citizens were present.
Inauguration-laying the foundation stone of development works worth Rs 192 crore
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development and construction works costing more than Rs 192 crore in a program organized at Rajpur in Balrampur-Ramanujganj. On this occasion, he gave keys of PM residence to the beneficiaries, check to the beneficiaries under labor registration card, forest rights lease, assistance amount to disaster victims, certificate to 3 villages declared TB free, tractor, check to two beneficiaries under Livestock Development Department. Many announcements including link court in Rajpur
On the request of MPs and MLAs, Chief Minister Sai announced several development works for Balrampur-Ramanujganj district. He announced construction of a bridge across the Mahan river between Narsinghpur to Markadar, construction of a new building for Higher Secondary School Rajpur, construction of a culvert in Chander Muskhor drain in Uffia in Rajpur block and opening of Additional Collector Link Court in Rajpur.
Karma Mahotsav in Bilaspur and Surguja Division
In view of the majority of Pando tribe in the area, the Chief Minister announced the construction of 50-50 seater boys and girls hostels for the Pando tribe and announced to organize Karma Mahotsav every year in Bilaspur and Surguja divisions.
