New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tribute to legendary playback singer Lata Mangeshkar on her 95th birth anniversary and recalled his “special association” with her. Prime Minister Modi said in a post on ‘X’, “Remembering Lata Didi on her birth anniversary. She will always be alive in the hearts and minds of people because of her melodious songs.
He said, “Lata didi and I had a special bond. I was fortunate to receive her love and blessings.” The Prime Minister also shared an article written by Lata Mangeshkar’s brother and musician Hridaynath Mangeshkar in ‘Indian Express’ which mentions the relationship between Modi and the legendary singer.
Lata Mangeshkar, who remained at the helm of playback singing for many decades, had mastered the nuances of classical music. Mangeshkar was born in Indore on 28 September 1929. He breathed his last on 6 February 2022 in Mumbai at the age of 92.
