Shivam Mishra, Raipur. Amid complaints about providing facilities to the prisoners lodged in the Central Jail of the capital, the Jail DG and SSP suddenly arrived to inspect. The officers went to both men's and women's cells and investigated for three hours. During this period, 3 pen drives, gutkha and intoxicants were seized.
Actually, a few days ago a video from inside the jail went viral on social media. In which prisoner history-sheeter Mukesh Baniya had given information about a bribe of Rs 50 thousand and the mobile being used inside the jail. After this another case came to light. In which the accused of double murder was being provided facilities in the hospital. When the higher officials got information about this, they reached the jail with 200 policemen and conducted intensive checking.
During intensive checking, Central Jail DG and SSP Santosh Singh seized three pendrives, gutkha and tobacco from the jail. Although there was nothing special in the pen drive, it was empty. After which the officials reprimanded the jailer and other officials.
But this big question arises that how did the pendrive reach inside the jail and what was its function. At present, who had ordered the pen drive is being investigated. After investigation, due to this gross negligence, many officers and guards may be held accountable.
