Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai held a review meeting at his residence office yesterday evening regarding the successful organization of the country’s historic Bastar Dussehra festival celebrated for 75 days. During this, he directed all concerned to efficiently discharge the responsibility assigned to them for successful organization of Bastar Dussehra festival in accordance with its dignity. It is noteworthy that the 75-day long Bastar Dussehra festival has started on 4 August 2024 with Pat Jatra Puja Vidhan on the day of Hareli Amavasya, which will be celebrated till 19 October 2024. This Dussehra festival is an important symbol of the cultural and spiritual sentiments of various tribal communities.
During this, Chief Minister Sai was given detailed information about the organization of various programs in it by the Bastar Dussehra Utsav Samiti on a date-wise basis. In which it was told that during the historic Bastar Dussehra festival, Mudia Darbar will be organized on 15 October 2024. Similarly, to give a grand look to Bastar Dussehra, various programs like Bastar Madai, Social Media Influencers Meet, Ek Ped Bastar Ke Deities Ke Naam, Bastar Tourist Circuit, Dussehra Pasara, Nagargudi Tent City, Tourism Travelers Operator Meet, Dev Sarai, Swachhata Pakhwada will also be organized. Keeping in mind the convenience of the people in Bastar Dussehra festival, discussion was also held regarding the operation of special passenger buses.
Under the historic Bastar Dussehra festival 2024, which started with Pat Jatra Puja Vidhan on August 4, Kachnagadi Puja Vidhan, Relamata Puja Vidhan on October 2. Navratri Puja Vidhan, Rath Parikrama Puja Vidhan every day from October 5 to October 10. Mawali Parghav Vidhan on October 12, Kachan Jatra Puja Vidhan and Muria Darbar on October 15, Kutumb Jatra Puja Vidhan on October 16, Vidaai Puja Vidhan of Mawali Mata Ji’s Doli on October 19 is organized.
It is worth noting that in Muria Darbar, the chiefs, leaders and administrative officers of various tribal communities meet to preserve culture, tradition and customs and consider community demands and problems. This year Muria Darbar will be organized on 15 October 2024. 10 days after the Muria Darbar event, it is proposed to organize a conference of the chief priests of Manjhi, Chalki, Member, Memberin, Pujari, Kotwar, Patel, Mataguri of Bastar division.
Many innovative initiatives are being taken by the district administration on the occasion of the historic Bastar Dussehra festival. Under The Bastar Madai, the administration has prepared the concept of “The Bastar Madai” to make tourists aware of the natural beauty, historical and archaeological sites, adventure sites, cultural sites of Bastar.
Under Bastar Madai, many important programs will be organized like group dance program on 21 September, Bastar Haat-Amcho Khaja from 21 September to 1 October, Bastar Nacha in Sirhasar campus ground on 24 September, traditional folk music on 27 September, Bastar stories and humorous poetry conference on 29 September, Bastariya Nacha on 30 September. Stalls of traditional dishes of Bastar will be set up from 2 October till the end of Bastar Dussehra 2024.
On this occasion, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, MP Mahesh Kashyap and MLAs Kiran Singhdev and Sultana Usendi and Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain and Chief Minister’s Secretary P Dayanand, Basavaraju S, Rahul Bhagat and Secretary Anbalgan P, Bastar Commissioner Doman Singh, Bastar Collector Vijay Dayaram, SP Shalabh Sinha were present.
