Rahul Gandhi is a ‘political tourist’, he is not able to tolerate peace in Manipur: BJP leader Tarun Chugh

The Uncut

New Delhi. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary Tarun Chugh on Monday termed Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, who is on a visit to Manipur, a “political tourist” and alleged that he cannot digest the “peace” of this northeastern state. He said the Congress leader does not have time to meet the victims of poisonous liquor in Tamil Nadu and post-poll violence in West Bengal.

In a post on ‘X’, he said, “Manipur’s peace is not being tolerated by a ‘political tourist’ like Rahul Gandhi. The Prime Minister himself has given a description in the House of the situation in Manipur and how efficiently the central and state governments have handled the state.” He said that Rahul Gandhi has time to go to Hathras and Manipur but does not have time to go to states like Tamil Nadu and West Bengal because his allies are in power in these states.

He said, “People are dying and murders are happening in Tamil Nadu due to drinking poisonous liquor. There is post-election violence in Bengal, rapes are happening, selective murders are happening and people’s houses are being burnt. But this ‘political tourist’ has no time for Bengal or Tamil Nadu.” He alleged, “Political tourism is being done by deliberately going to peaceful states.” Earlier, Congress targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the backdrop of Rahul Gandhi’s Manipur visit and said that the Prime Minister did not get time to go to Manipur even for a few hours nor did he express the desire to do so.
Rahul reached Manipur on Monday. He will meet the people affected by the violence.
