Rahul’s claim that Modi has lost confidence is ‘absolutely ridiculous’: BJP

The Uncut

New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday rejected as “baseless and ridiculous” the jibe made by Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public meeting in Jammu and Kashmir and said that making baseless allegations has become the hallmark of Congress leaders.

Gandhi had claimed on Monday that the opposition ‘India’ alliance had broken Modi psychologically in the Lok Sabha elections.
Rahul Gandhi had said, “He used to boast of his 56-inch chest, but now he is not the same person as before.” Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, one of the two BJP in-charges for the assembly elections in the Union Territory, said in a statement that Rahul Gandhi has no moral right to criticize Modi.

He claimed that Modi has worked “selflessly and with utmost dedication” to enhance India’s stature on the global stage.
Reddy said the prime minister’s faith is not something that needs the support or certification of the opposition leader. “The people of India have consistently expressed their faith in Modi and they will undoubtedly give a befitting reply to Rahul Gandhi’s divisive politics,” he said. Reddy said the BJP won more seats in the Lok Sabha elections than the combined number of the ‘India’ alliance because Indians have unwavering faith and trust in Modi’s leadership.

He said Gandhi, on the other hand, no longer had faith in democracy and had insulted important institutions like Parliament and the country’s highest constitutional institutions like the Supreme Court and the Election Commission.
Attacking the Congress and Gandhi, Reddy said the party which ruled India for 60 years could only reach double digits in three consecutive elections.

He said, “Despite such a huge defeat, Rahul Gandhi insists on spreading misinformation and levelling false allegations against the Prime Minister.” Reddy said that making baseless allegations against Modi and the central government has become the hallmark of his political rhetoric.

He said, “Modi’s election as Prime Minister for three consecutive terms, securing a majority in Parliament each time, is a testament to the immense trust that 140 crore Indians have placed in him. It is this immense faith in Modi’s leadership that unites the nation behind him.” He said whether it is COVID-19 or any other crisis facing India, people have unwavering faith in Modi and this faith empowers him to take bold and decisive steps. He said Modi’s leadership helped in the safe return of Indian citizens during the Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Reddy said, “Rahul Gandhi’s claim that he has shaken the confidence of Prime Minister Modi is absurd. No Indian from Kashmir to Kanyakumari will find such statements credible.” He said, “Rahul Gandhi, who has failed to lead his own party after several electoral defeats and often chooses to go abroad, is in no moral position to comment on the confidence of a leader like Modi.” He said, “Rahul Gandhi’s political acumen is questionable and he has no serious understanding of governance.” He said that after losing three consecutive Lok Sabha elections, it seems that Rahul Gandhi himself has lost confidence and is resorting to divisive tactics, which has harmed the progress and unity of the country.
