Jaipur. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said on Tuesday that the railway administration is alert about possible attempts of sabotage and is in talks with the administration and police in several states to prevent any untoward incident. He told reporters at Jaipur airport that the central government is taking the security threats (of railways) very seriously and “strict action will be taken against anyone who tries to cause such an accident. This is our resolve.” Vaishnav said, “The entire administration of the railway is fully alert. There is constant communication with all the state governments, with the Director Generals of Police (DGPs) of the states, with the Home Secretaries. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is also involved in this.” After reaching Jaipur, Vaishnav met Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma at the Chief Minister’s residence. Officials described Vaishnav’s meeting as a courtesy visit.
According to officials, during the meeting the two leaders discussed the expansion of railway facilities in Rajasthan.
Both the leaders interacted with BJP workers at Bhatia Bhawan located in Raja Park area of the city. Along with this, Vaishnav also inspected the ‘roof plaza’ built at Gandhi Nagar railway station in Jaipur.
The Union Minister, while talking to reporters, said that the plaza will connect two parts of the city. He said that the plaza at Gandhi Nagar Railway Station is one of the first such projects in the country. The Railway Minister is also scheduled to board an engine equipped with ‘Kavach’ technology at Sawai Madhopur Railway Station at 4 pm and travel for 45 minutes to Indergarh Station.
Railway Minister Vaishnaw tested the loco of ‘Kavach’ system
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Tuesday tested the loco of the indigenous security system ‘Kavach 4.0’ installed from Sawai Madhopur to Indragarh Sumerganj Mandi. A railway spokesperson said here that Vaishnav inspected the ‘Kavach’ system from the loco from Sawai Madhopur to Indragarh Sumerganj Mandi station of Kota division. During this, he interacted with the loco pilots and took all the information about ‘Kavach 4.0’.
According to the official statement, India’s indigenous Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system ‘Kavach’ version 4.0 has been installed for the first time on the Indian Railways by the Kota Division of West Central Railway on the 108 km Kota-Sawai Madhopur section.
‘Kavach’ provides automatic train protection and train collision avoidance capability.
