Raipur: Governor held a meeting with officials on development and other activities

During his stay in Bilaspur district, Governor Ramen Deka held a meeting with the district officials on development and other activities and had a general discussion with them. He said that the common man should get 100% benefit of the flagship schemes of the government. Governor Deka directed the officials to bring about necessary progress by discussing on topics like water conservation and water harvesting, plantation and environmental enhancement, promotion of traditional and organic farming, eradication of TB etc.

He sought information about the tree plantation being carried out on the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. Governor Deka sought information from the Agriculture Department official on topics such as traditional agriculture and organic farming promotion, crop insurance etc. He asked the concerned officials to visit the area and identify progressive farmers of the district and encourage them. He said that farmers should be made aware about crop insurance so that they can get 100% benefit of the insurance scheme.

The Governor sought information about the efforts and progress made for TB elimination in the district. He asked for better monitoring for TB elimination and to make people aware about it. He sought information about Red Cross. He said that the youth is getting affected a lot due to drug peddling, so take all necessary measures for this and ensure effective measures for prevention of drug addiction.

The Governor talked about making special efforts to connect the people living in tribal areas with the mainstream of society and to provide other basic services including health, education. He also asked to increase cooperative activities in tribal areas so that the people living in the region can be empowered and connected to the mainstream. Along with this, he encouraged all the officers to discharge their departmental responsibilities with full devotion and to work with better innovation. Officers of the district administration, Command Officer of NCC and district level officers of all departments were present in the meeting.
