Rajnandgaon: MBBS student commits suicide in hostel

The Uncut

Rajnandgaon. A medical college student in Chhattisgarh’s Rajnandgaon city allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself on Thursday.
Police officials said that Kesar Godara (21), a final year MBBS student, committed suicide in her hostel room located in the campus of Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee (BRLSABV) Memorial Medical College in the city. SHO Navratan Kashyap of Lalbagh police station in the city said that the body has been sent for post-mortem.

He said, “No suicide note was found at the scene and further investigation is underway.” According to Dr. Renuka Gahine, dean of the medical college, her friends told the hostel warden that Godara’s room was locked from inside and she was not responding even after repeated knocking.

Later, when a guard looked through the window, he saw him hanging from the noose and the police were informed.
Gahine said that Godara, a resident of Bikaner in Rajasthan, was a final year MBBS student. He said that she did not appear for the internal examination held today, after which her classmates went to the hostel to see her.
