Raipur. On the second day, a crowd of people is forming in Garh Kaleva to taste the traditional Chhattisgarhi dishes in the food court at the Rajyotsav venue Nava Raipur. Chhattisgarh is not only known for its cultural heritage, but the taste of Chhattisgarhi dishes like Bada, Fara, Cheela and Bhajiya is in the mouth of every Chhattisgarhian. Fara made from rice flour is made in two ways, first is sweet, in which jaggery solution is used in fara and second is steamed, which is made more tasty by applying sugar.
Two forms of cheela are prevalent: sweet and salty. Nunha cheela is made by adding salt to rice flour and Gurha cheela is made by adding jaggery to the batter. The taste of both these cheelas is enhanced by green chillies and patal chutney. There is a custom of making bhajiya from both urad pithi or gram flour. Chhattisgarhi cuisine is balanced, healthy and delicious. Besides, the sweet smell of tradition makes them incomparable.
Many women like Kalyani Yadav, Rajmati Sahu, Rani Verma of Bemetara, Geeta Verma who came from near Abhanpur told that they all have come to the Rajyotsav venue at Garh Kaleva to taste Chhattisgarhi cuisine and they all are enjoying it here. Everyone found the taste of traditional Chhattisgarhi dishes in the food court of Rajyotsav venue to be similar to the taste of the dishes prepared at home.
