Agartala/Jaipur/Kolkata. Thousands of people gathered on Tuesday under the leadership of ‘Sanatani Yuva’ organization in Agartala, the capital of Tripura, and took out a rally demanding the immediate release of Hindu saint Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh. The protesters protested against the alleged oppression of minorities in the neighboring country.
The police had not given permission to the protesters for the ‘Bangladesh March’, hence they were not allowed to move towards the Akhaura Integrated Check Post (ICP) on the international border. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Union Minister Pratima Bhowmik, while talking to journalists, expressed concern over the “extreme repression” of minorities in the neighboring country after the arrest of spiritual leader Chinmoy Krishna Das and the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government.
He said, “There is complete unrest in Bangladesh and minorities are facing extreme oppression in their own country. A total of 17,000 properties have been attacked since the new government came to power. The whole world is worried about what is happening in Bangladesh. “We demand the immediate release of Chinmoy Prabhu, who raised his voice for minorities.”

Bangladesh should ensure the safety of lawyers wishing to represent Chinmay Das: ISKCON Kolkata
International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Kolkata on Tuesday appealed to the Bangladesh government to ensure the safety of lawyers willing to represent Hindu saint Chinmoy Krishna Das in the ongoing case against him. ISKCON Kolkata has made this appeal after the brutal attack on Das’s lawyer.
ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson Radharaman Das on Monday claimed that Raman Roy, who was defending Chinmoy Krishna Das, was attacked by a group of Islamic fundamentalists at his home in Bangladesh. A Bangladesh court on Tuesday postponed till next month the hearing on the bail plea of a Hindu saint arrested on treason charges as no lawyer appeared on his behalf. Radharaman Das criticized the Bangladesh government for “not having any lawyer present” to represent the Hindu saint, saying this was against basic human rights.
Radharaman Das said, “It is very disappointing to see that no defense lawyer was there. Is this justice? Is this how you provide free and fair justice? We would urge the Bangladesh government to look into this matter.” According to Radharaman Das, no new lawyer has come forward to represent Chinmoy Krishna Das after the attack on Roy, citing security concerns.
He said, “So far no new lawyer has come forward to fight his case. Those who want it fear that they too may have to suffer the same fate as Roy. We would request the Bangladesh government to provide adequate security to lawyers willing to fight this case.” In a post this evening, Radharaman Das claimed that another lawyer, Regan Acharya, who represented Das on the first day, had also been attacked.
Bangladeshi devotees should avoid public use of religious symbols: ISKCON Kolkata spokesperson
ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) Kolkata spokesperson Radharaman Das said on Tuesday that they have asked devotees to avoid wearing saffron clothes and applying tilak in public places in view of security concerns due to attacks targeting Hindu minorities in Bangladesh. Have requested. Cases of violence against the Hindu community in Bangladesh have increased since the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government earlier this year. Have gone.
ISKCON Kolkata Vice President Radharaman Das told PTI, “The situation in Bangladesh is worrying. We have told those sadhus and devotees who are calling us not to make public their identity as ISKCON followers or sadhus. We have asked them to practice their religion inside homes or temples only. “We have advised them to wear clothes that do not attract the attention of other people.” He stressed that this measure is temporary and is only aimed at ensuring their safety. Das said, “This is not an advice or a general guideline, but it is my personal suggestion to those sadhus and devotees who have been calling us continuously for the last few days.”
