Rang Panchami celebrated in the pilgrimage city: Baba Omkareshwar was applied color and gulal, crowd of devotees gathered for darshan.

Imran Khan, Khandwa. Rang Panchami is celebrated in the pilgrimage city of Omkareshwar in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. Here Rang Panchami was celebrated by applying colors and gulal to Lord Omkareshwar seated on Omkar mountain. Also, on this occasion, special worship and consecration of the ghostly Lord Bholenath was done.

On Rang Panchami, the entire sanctum sanctorum and temple were specially decorated with colorful flowers. Today being Rang Panchami, there is a huge crowd of devotees in Omkareshwar. A large number of Shiva devotees are coming for darshan. In such a situation, the police system is also strong. Police personnel are deployed at different points and monitoring is being done through CCTV cameras installed inside the temple.

It is noteworthy that Rang Panchami is one of the festivals celebrated after Holi. Rang Panchami is mainly celebrated in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and some parts of Northern India. According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Rang Panchami is celebrated on the fifth day of Krishna Paksha of Chaitra month. This time Rang Panchami is being celebrated on 30th March i.e. today.
