New Delhi. Actress Rashmika Mandanna was on Tuesday appointed as the national brand ambassador of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C). I4C is an initiative of the Union Home Ministry to combat cyber crime in India. Rashmika, who made her mark with her strong acting in films like ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, ‘Dear Comrade’ and ‘Animal’, came into limelight at the beginning of the year when a ‘deep fake’ video of hers went viral on a large scale on social media. Rashmika, who has faced the brunt of cyber crime, said, “The time has come to take strict measures to protect our online world.” He wrote on Instagram, “Let us all together create a safe cyber space for ourselves and future generations. As the brand ambassador of I4C, I want to spread awareness as well as save more and more people from cyber crimes. Let me and the Government of India help you.” Rashmika is followed by 4.42 crore people on Instagram, while 49 lakh people follow her on ‘X’. The actress appealed to people to report cyber crimes by calling 1930 or visiting the website.
Rashmika was welcomed as the National Brand Ambassador of I4C on ‘Cyber Dost’, the cyber security and cyber security awareness handle of the Ministry of Home Affairs on ‘X’. A post on ‘Cyber Dost’ said, “It is a pleasure to appoint Rashmika Mandanna, popular across India, as the National Brand Ambassador of I4C. We are working together to strengthen India’s digital landscape. We will fight cyber crimes firmly.”
