Kanpur: Ravindra Jadeja became the seventh bowler to take 300 wickets for India when he took the wicket of Khalid Mahmood on the fourth day of the second Test against Bangladesh. Jadeja ended Bangladesh’s innings by taking the return catch of Mahmood. Bangladesh scored 233 runs in the first innings.
Bowlers who have taken 300 Test wickets for India include Anil Kumble (619), R Ashwin (524), Kapil Dev (434), Harbhajan Singh (417), Ishant Sharma (311) and Zaheer Khan (311). Jadeja has achieved this figure in 74 tests. He also became the second player after England’s Ian Botham to become the fastest player to complete 300 Test wickets and 3000 Test runs.
