The Federation of All India Medical Associations (FAIMA), representing resident doctors’ associations across the country, has called for a nationwide shutdown of non-emergency services in hospitals from Monday in solidarity with the doctors protesting in West Bengal on Sunday. called upon. However, the association has requested all Resident Doctor Associations (RDAs) to ensure that emergency services are maintained round the clock. “After careful deliberations, we have unanimously decided that the time has come to unite at the national level,” the association said in a statement. We had given an ultimatum to the Chief Minister of West Bengal in a previous letter to carry forward the movement, but no satisfactory action was taken, due to which we had to request all the RDAs and Medical Associations across the country to take action from Monday onwards. “Join us in our call to end non-emergency medical services.” This open letter has been written to the National Medical Associations, State Resident Doctors Associations and Resident Doctors Associations (RDAs) of various medical colleges and institutions of national importance.

According to the letter, “However, we request all RDAs and associations to continue providing emergency facilities round the clock, so that patients who require our immediate services should not face problems.” The letter says, “This is not a decision that we have taken without thinking. We are aware of its effects on ordinary people, and we are at pains to contemplate any action that might cause distress to them. But our voice. “We were ignored, our security was compromised and our appeals were rejected by the government for a long time.” “We are left with no option but to take action — not only for our own sake, but also in the interest of the medical profession and the safety of all healthcare workers,” the letter said. Junior doctor RG Kar Medical College is on fast unto death since October 5 for justice for the victim and his other issues. Three doctors have been admitted to the hospital after their health deteriorated due to the fast.
