Bathing is an important part of our daily routine. However, it is very important to keep some things in mind while bathing. So let us know from Ayurveda what should be the correct way of bathing.
Bathing is very important to keep the body fresh. Bathing not only refreshes the body but it also removes sweat, dust and dirt from the body and removes all the toxins from the body. Besides, bathing also relaxes the mind. But all this is possible only when the method of bathing is correct. Now you might be wondering whether there is a right or wrong way to take a bath? Yes, the right and wrong way of bathing has been discussed very openly in Ayurveda. Bathing in the wrong way may make your body fresh but it can also have many side effects. Bathing incorrectly can cause health problems like rough skin, hair fall, dark circles as well as weak immunity, weak digestion and migraine. Are you also inviting all these issues by adopting wrong methods of bathing? Let us know-
take a hot bath
Many people use hot water for bathing. Especially during the winter season, most people take bath with hot water only. But according to Ayurveda, bathing with hot water is not at all beneficial for health. After bathing with hot water, the senses are not able to open properly, due to which the energy which should be available is not available. Apart from this, taking bath with hot water daily can also affect the digestive system and can also cause stress. Therefore, normal temperature water should always be used for bathing. However, in case of arthritis and fever, you can use lukewarm water for bathing.
take bath after eating
Sometimes people go to take bath immediately after having food. Doing this can be very harmful for health. Actually, after eating food, energy is required to digest it, but when you take bath immediately after eating food, the body temperature reduces. Due to which proper energy is not available to digest food and this affects the digestive process. This causes intestinal week and health problems like constipation and acidity. Therefore, one should avoid bathing for at least 2 hours after eating food.
Oil massage before bath
In Ayurveda, doing oil massage before bathing is said to be very beneficial. In fact, when oil is massaged on the body, the oil absorbs all the dirt in the body. After this, when you take bath, you can easily clean all the dirt from the body. Earlier people often used to take bath only after massaging the body with oil. If you do not have much time to do this then you can follow this process once a week.
use towel after bath
Often people use towels lightly after bathing, which is not the right way. After bathing, the body should be wiped thoroughly with a towel by rubbing it. With this, the skin becomes dry and the dead skin of the body is also removed. Apart from this, despite taking daily bath many times, the dead skin of the body is not cleaned properly. For this, it is also important to use a scrubber while bathing. However, if your skin is very sensitive then you should avoid doing this.
bathing for longer or shorter periods of time
You must have noticed that when some people enter the bathroom to take a bath, they do not come out for hours, while some people come out immediately after taking a bath. Both these methods of bathing are not correct. One should neither spend more nor less time in bathing. Rather, for proper bathing, one should take bath while giving some time to cleaning every part of the body.
