New Delhi. BJP MLAs, demanding the dismissal of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, on Wednesday asked the ruling party to explain how Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is running the government from jail and also present a list of decisions taken by him in the last five months. Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta asked 10 questions to AAP in a press conference and demanded that it present a list of decisions taken by Chief Minister Kejriwal from jail.
Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and minister Atishi on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of conspiring to topple the Arvind Kejriwal-led government through the “back door” by imposing President’s rule in Delhi.
This allegation was made at a time when just a day earlier, the President’s Secretariat had sent a memorandum of the opposition party BJP to the Home Ministry for “due attention”. The memorandum states that Delhi is facing a constitutional crisis. Gupta said that if AAP fails to answer the 10 questions, it will become clear that the ruling party has no answer to the “constitutional crisis” and “violation of the Constitution” and its (AAP’s) government is “guilty”.
The BJP leader also sought an answer from AAP as to why there was no meeting of the National Civil Services Authority (NCCSA) headed by Kejriwal in the last eight months. He asked how many cabinet meetings were held in the last five months and what decisions were taken in them and why the recommendations of the Sixth Delhi Finance Commission to strengthen the financial position of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) were not implemented. Kejriwal has been in judicial custody in Tihar Jail since his arrest in March in the excise policy ‘scam’ case.
