Chandigarh. Nayab Singh Saini, who became the hero of BJP’s victory in Haryana Assembly elections, took oath as the Chief Minister of the state in a grand ceremony on Thursday, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) were present.
Thousands of people had gathered at the Dussehra grounds in Panchkula to watch Governor Bandaru Dattatreya administer the oath to OBC leader Saini and 13 other ministers. By choosing the day of Valmiki Jayanti for this function and by arranging the stage for the Chief Ministers, Ministers and NDA allies of the states under its rule, BJP gave two messages simultaneously.

There were strong chances of Congress’s victory in this election.

BJP won 48 seats in the elections for the 90-member Haryana Assembly. Hisar MLA Savitri Jindal and three independent MLAs have also supported the BJP. Haryana can have a maximum of 14 ministers including the Chief Minister. The thirteen-member Council of Ministers includes senior party leader Anil Vij, Ahir leader Rao Narbir Singh and Jat leader Mahipal Dhanda. There are two women in the cabinet, including Shruti Chaudhary, daughter of Rajya Sabha member Kiran Chaudhary and former Congress leader, and Aarti Singh, daughter of Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh, who became an MLA for the first time. Rajesh Nagar and Gaurav Gautam took oath as Ministers of State (Independent Charge).

Except Chaudhary, all the newly appointed ministers took oath in Hindi. Chaudhary took oath in English. Apart from giving representation to different castes, including five OBCs, two Dalits, two Jats and two Brahmins, Saini has also given place in the cabinet to leaders from different areas including Ahirwal Patti, GT Road Patti and Faridabad-Palwal region.

BJP’s Shyam Singh Rana said after taking oath as Haryana minister, “This is team work… We will fulfill all the responsibilities given to us by the Chief Minister (Nayab Singh Saini).” Union Minister Khattar thanked all the NDA leaders, Chief Ministers and others gathered on this occasion.

Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and BJP president JP Nadda participated in the ceremony. Chief Ministers of many states also attended the ceremony, including Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Himanta Vishwa Sharma of Assam, Vishnu Dev Sai of Chhattisgarh, Bhupendra Patel of Gujarat and Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand. Leader of BJP’s ally Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in NDA and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu also attended the function.

He told reporters, “We are very happy. This is the trust of the people on Prime Minister Modi. So this is a big victory. The mood of the country is very clear.” Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader and Union Minister Chirag Paswan said, “This in itself is an unexpected and historic victory. I congratulate Naib Singh Saini ji and give the credit of this victory entirely to our Prime Minister Modi and his leadership, the policies of Home Minister Amit Shah, the organizational strength of BJP National President JP Nadda and most importantly the people of Haryana. Before the ceremony, Saini visited Valmiki Bhawan and offered prayers at a gurudwara and the Mansa Devi temple in Panchkula.

Responding to a question, Saini told reporters that BJP’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ (election manifesto) will be fully implemented. After the swearing-in ceremony, NDA leaders including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Ministers also attended a meeting held here to discuss development issues.

In a statement ahead of the meeting, the BJP said that 13 Chief Ministers and 16 Deputy Chief Ministers across the country belong to the BJP, while the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, Nagaland and Meghalaya belong to its allies, who are participating in the conference. . This is the first such conference of NDA in the last several years. BJP and its allies are preparing to take on the opposition alliance in the Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections to be held next month.

Apart from the Chief Minister, 13 MLAs will take oath as ministers.
