Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has given a big gift to the medical college staff by giving them a historic increase in their salary. On the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the Health Department has increased the salary of senior resident to letter professors of government medical colleges of Chhattisgarh.
In non-scheduled areas, the salary will be Rs 1 lakh 90 thousand. In scheduled areas, the salary is being increased by about 46 percent and in non-scheduled areas, it is being increased by about 23 percent.
The Health Department, led by Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, has announced a historic hike in the salaries of Senior Resident, Demonstrator (PG), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor in government medical colleges. This decision has been taken to improve the healthcare sector.
You will get this much increased salary from 1st September
The new salary will be applicable in all government medical colleges of the state from September 1, 2024. According to the order issued by the Chhattisgarh Medical Education Department, significant salary hikes have been made. For example, the salary of professors in non-scheduled areas has been increased from Rs 1.55 lakh to Rs 1.90 lakh, while in scheduled areas the salary has increased from Rs 1.90 lakh to Rs 2.25 lakh. There has been a proportionate increase for associate and assistant professors and senior residents.
Targeting a salary hike of about 46% in scheduled areas and 23% in non-scheduled areas, the decision reflects the government’s strong intent to strengthen the healthcare sector. Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said, “There will be no compromise in expanding healthcare facilities in the state.” He said proper remuneration for teachers is important for quality medical education.
Assistant Professor’s salary increased to Rs 1.55 lakh
In this way, the salary of associate professor has been increased from Rs 1 lakh 35 thousand to Rs 1 lakh 55 thousand, the salary of assistant professor from Rs 90 thousand to Rs 1 lakh and the salary of senior resident and demonstrator (PG) from Rs 65 thousand to Rs 75 thousand. He also said that the arrangement of hospitals will be such that even ministers will be able to go to government hospitals and get treatment.
