This is how Selena Gomez fights depression

Hollywood’s famous actress and singer Selena Gomez admitted six years ago that she has been facing mental health challenges for a long time. Selena, who suffers from depression, recently revealed in her interview to the famous lifestyle magazine Vanity Fair that she does a strange thing to keep her mental health right. That is, taking a bath in very hot and very cold water at the same time. She says that doing this relieves her depression. Researchers at Virginia University admitted in their study that exposure to cold water increases blood flow, due to which the nervous system becomes active. A similar study was also conducted last year at Virginia Commonwealth University, where people suffering from mental illness were given a session of hot water for eight weeks and then cold water. The result was surprisingly positive. Depression patients benefit from this therapy. Dr. Hayward Warlankas says, ‘This therapy increases energy levels and reduces mental contraction.’

Many secrets are revealed by the stool of a newborn

Scientists from Wellcome Sanger Institute, University College London and Birmingham University have made several revelations in their study after examining the stool of 1288 newborn babies. Children who were fully or partially breastfed in the first few weeks of birth were included in this study. After examining more than two thousand samples of stool, scientists tried to understand what type of bacteria grows in the intestines of newborns and why? These bacteria can help the newborn to digest the nutrients present in the milk during breastfeeding and protect them from germs. Another type of this bacteria can also be dangerous for the newborn, which spreads infection.

This study also revealed that breastfeeding or formula feeding has no effect on the pioneer bacteria living in the newborn’s gut. But children of mothers who have been given antibiotics during delivery are more likely to have E-faecalis, which can cause them to get repeated infections. The purpose of this study was to know the exact effect of these microbiomes on the health of children, so that infections and diseases can be treated properly in the future.
