The Uncut

New Delhi: Services on the Supreme Court’s ‘hacked’ YouTube channel were restored on Friday. A notice uploaded on the apex court’s website on Friday said, “All concerned are informed that the YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India is live streaming and its services are operational.”

Services on the YouTube channel of the Supreme Court of India have been resumed. The YouTube channel of the court was hacked on Friday and a video promoting cryptocurrency developed by US company Ripple Labs started appearing on it.

However, there was nothing in this video but below it was written, “Brad Garlinghouse: Ripple Responds to the SEC Two Billion Dollar Fine! XRP Price Prediction.” A notice posted on the court’s website said, “Everyone is informed that services on the YouTube channel of the Supreme Court have been disrupted. Services on the YouTube channel of the apex court will be resumed soon. ”

Later, another notice was uploaded on the website stating that the live telecast is going on on the ‘YouTube’ channel and the services have been restored. The apex court uses the YouTube channel to live broadcast the hearing of cases listed before its constitution bench and matters of public interest. The apex court had decided in 2018 to live broadcast the hearing of all the cases listed before the constitution bench.
