Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP (Uddhav faction) Sanjay Raut has been convicted in the defamation case. The court has sentenced him to 15 days in jail. Along with this, a fine of 25 thousand rupees has also been imposed on him. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya’s wife Medha Kirit had filed a case against Raut.

Medha had filed a defamation suit against him for Rs 100 crore.

Medha Somaiya’s petition was heard in Mumbai’s Shivadi Court. The court found the Shiv Sena MP guilty in this case. Medha’s lawyer Vivekanand Gupta said that the court has sentenced Sanjay Raut to 15 days’ imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on him.

Actually, Raut had accused Medha of being involved in a toilet scam worth Rs 100 crore. Medha had completely rejected Raut’s allegations and said that Raut’s allegations against her were baseless and of a derogatory nature.

Kirit Somaiya’s wife Medha had filed the case

The case is of the year 2022. Sanjay Raut had accused Medha Somaiya of being involved in the toilet scam in Mulund. After this, Kirit Somaiya challenged Sanjay Raut to provide evidence of this allegation. But when Sanjay Raut did not provide any evidence, Medha Somaiya filed a defamation suit of Rs 100 crore against Sanjay Raut.
