Shabbir Ahmed, Bhopal. Due to the drivers' strike in Madhya Pradesh, life has become disrupted. Due to non-availability of petrol, holiday has even been declared in schools. Amidst the shortage of petrol and diesel, Bhopal Collector Ashish Singh took charge. The Collector reached the depot late evening today. He supplied 10 lakh liters of petrol and diesel from tankers of companies under police protection. This supply will continue even at night.

Due to protest by the drivers, petrol and diesel tankers had not arrived from the depot for the whole day. Many pumps were left empty due to non-availability of tankers. The administration has requested people not to make unnecessary purchases and panic.

People left all their work and went to fill petrol in their vehicles. Due to the spread of rumor that petrol and diesel were running out, long queues formed at all the petrol pumps in the city.
