Mahasamund: There is news of stone pelting on Vande Bharat train in Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh. Here, stones were pelted on Vande Bharat train at Bagbahara railway station in which the glasses of three coaches of the train C2-10, C4-1, C9-78 were broken.
On receiving the information, the Railway Police has arrested 5 accused. All the five accused are residents of Bagbahara. The RPF Police will file a case under the Railway Act 1989 and present the accused in the Railway Court today itself.
RPF officer Parveen Singh said, ‘Yesterday there was a trial run of Vande Bharat train which is going to run from 16th. It left Mahasamund at 7.10 am. Around 9 am some anti-social elements pelted stones on the moving train near Bagbahara. Our supporting party was in the train with weapons. They informed. After the information, a team immediately went and investigated and five accused were caught. The names of the five accused are Shiv Kumar Baghel, Devendra Kumar, Jeetu Pandey, Sonwani and Arjun Yadav. All five are from Bagbahara. They are anti-social elements.’
Brother of an accused councillor
The RPF officer said, ‘During investigation it was found that the brother of the accused named Shivkumar Baghel is a councillor. Action is being taken in this case under section 153 of the Railway Act. The glass of three coaches has been broken in the stone pelting.’
Such incidents have come to the fore earlier also
This is not the first time that stones have been pelted on the Vande Bharat Express. Earlier also stones have been pelted on Vande Bharat Express in many cities. Just a few days ago, an unknown person pelted stones on the Vande Bharat Express (22346) going from Lucknow to Patna. This incident took place on Wednesday night near Varanasi. At around 8.15 pm, the accused damaged the window glass of C5 of the train by throwing stones.
Recently in July, miscreants threw stones at the Vande Bharat Express (22549) going from Gorakhpur to Lucknow. Many window panes were shattered. The window panes of coach number C1, C3 and executive coach were broken due to the stone pelting. The passengers got frightened due to the sudden stone pelting on the train and there was chaos inside the coach. However, no passenger was injured in this.
Earlier, when Vande Bharat train was started in many states including Gujarat, Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, such incidents have come to the fore. In these cases, the suspected accused have also been arrested in many states. Now, an incident of stone pelting on the train has come to light in UP as well.
