Sukma: One Naxalite killed in encounter with security forces

Raipur. Security forces have killed a wanted Naxalite in an encounter in Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. Police officials gave this information on Tuesday. He told that two to four other Naxalites have been reported injured in this action, which their comrades have taken with them. Police officials said that in the forest of Bodgubli village of the district, the security forces have killed Sodi Dula, an important member of the Konta area committee of the Naxalite organization in an encounter.

He said that the presence of Naxalites including Vetti Bhima, Mangadu, Kosi, Sodi Dula of Konta Area Committee in Maraiguda and Regragatta area under Bheji and Errabor police station area was reported after which Sukma District Police, District Reserve Force (DRG) and A joint team of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was dispatched for the anti-Naxal operation.

Police officials said that during the operation, when the security forces personnel were in the forest of Bodgubli village this afternoon, the Naxalites attacked the security forces. After this, the security forces also retaliated. He told that after firing from both sides for some time, the Naxalites fled from there.

He told that later when the security forces personnel searched the spot, the body of a Naxalite, a gun, landmine and other explosive materials were recovered from there. Officials said that the slain Naxalite has been identified as Sodi Dula. Dula has 15 cases of Naxalite crime registered against him. He told that the security force personnel are on the campaign and the area is being investigated.
