Sukma. Security forces arrested 19 Naxalites in Naxal-affected Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. Police officials said on Thursday that there was a reward declared on three of the arrested Naxalites. Police officials said that security forces arrested 19 Naxalites in Bhejji and Jagargunda police station areas of Sukma district.
He told that out of these three Naxalites, Commander Barse Hadma (25), Commander Barse Nagesh (20) and Hemla Jeetu (18) have a reward of Rs 1 lakh each. Officials said that on October 27, on information about the presence of Naxalites in the forest between Gompad and Bhandarpadar villages of Bhejji police station area, a joint team of the District Force and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was sent for the operation.
He told that later the police surrounded the forests of Bhandarpadar village and arrested five Naxalites. According to officials, the arrested Naxalites are accused of murdering electrician Podiyam Joga in February this year and being involved in the murder of Oyami Pandu of the same village on charges of police informer in September. He told that there is also an allegation against three of these Naxalites for the murder of two policemen in the year 2022.
Officials said that in another incident, on October 27, on information about Naxalite activity in Jagargunda police station area, a joint team laid siege and arrested 14 Naxalites. He told that the security forces had recovered gunpowder, explosives and other items from the arrested Naxalites.
Officials said that during interrogation of the Naxalites, it was revealed that they were trying to plant landmines on the route to harm the security forces. He told that on Wednesday the police presented all the Naxalites in the local court from where they were sent to jail. Officials said that special operations are being conducted continuously in the area to arrest Naxalites.
