Sunny Deol announced ‘Border-2’ on completion of 27 years of the film ‘Border’

New Delhi. Actor Sunny Deol on Thursday announced the making of ‘Border-2’ on the completion of 27 years of the release of the 1997 blockbuster film ‘Border’. According to the producers, the upcoming film will be ‘India’s biggest war film’ and Anurag Singh will direct it. He is known for films like ‘Kesari’ and ‘Jatt and Juliet’. Filmmaker JP Dutta directed ‘Border’. He will make its sequel with his daughter Nidhi Dutta under JP Films. The filmmakers will also include Bhushan Kumar and Kishan Kumar of T-Series. Deol released the teaser of ‘Border 2’ on the social media platform ‘X’.

He wrote with it, “A soldier is coming back to fulfill his 27-year-old promise. India’s biggest war film ‘Border 2’. Bhushan Kumar, Kishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta will produce the film and Anurag Singh will direct it.” The film ‘Border’ was released on 13 June 1997. It depicted the events related to the war between India and Pakistan in Longewala in the year 1971. Apart from Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry and Puneet Issar, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Rakhi, Pooja Bhatt and Sharbani Mukherjee also played roles in it.

‘Border’ was one of the highest grossing films of that year and the film gained immense popularity due to its songs. The songs of the film were written by Javed Akhtar and the music was composed by Anu Malik. Songs like ‘Sandese Aate Hain’, ‘Ae Jaate Hue Lamho’ and ‘Mere Dushman, Mere Bhai’ from ‘Border’ are still in people’s hearts. The film was also awarded three National Film Awards.
