Tamil film director arrested for commenting against Panchamritham, granted bail

Tiruchirappalli. Famous Tamil film director Mohan G. was arrested for making comments against the famous prasad Panchamritam of Lord Murugan temple in Palani, and later the court granted him bail. Police said that based on a complaint, an FIR was registered against Mohan under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), including disturbing peace and harmony. According to the police, Mohan was arrested and produced before the court on September 24. The court ordered his release on bail.

Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder S. Ramadoss condemned Mohan’s arrest. He said Mohan had referred to some allegations against Panchamritam during an interview to a YouTube channel and wanted the government and officials to be cautious in this regard. Ramadoss said Mohan’s arrest was ‘unjust’. Pazhaya Vannarpettai, Draupadi, Rudra Thandavam and Bahasuran are some of Mohan’s popular films. He had strongly condemned the Tirupati laddu controversy for playing with the sentiments of crores of people and demanded strict punishment for those responsible.
