Tamil Nadu police detained seven Bangladeshi nationals

Erode. Seven Bangladeshi nationals working in textile units near Erode in Tamil Nadu have been detained for questioning as they did not have passports/visas. The police gave this information on Thursday. According to the police, acting on a tip-off, the police searched the premises of some private companies in Panikkampalayam village near Perundurai and detained 22 workers, who are not from Tamil Nadu.

Police said they were brought to Perundurai police station and during interrogation it was revealed that 15 of them had ‘Aadhaar’ and the remaining Bangladeshi nationals did not have passports or visas. Police said that the genuineness of Aadhaar will be confirmed in due course, but statements of seven foreigners have been recorded.
