Telangana minister calls KTR the reason for Samantha-Naga Chaitanya’s divorce, BRS hits back

The Uncut

Hyderabad. Accusing Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of targeting her online, Telangana Minister Konda Surekha on Wednesday claimed that BRS leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) was responsible for the divorce of actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. The actor’s family as well as the opposition party reacted sharply to this comment.

Naga Chaitanya’s father and Telugu actor Nagarjuna strongly condemned the minister’s remarks, saying he should not drag film stars who stay away from politics into criticizing rivals. BRS criticized Surekha for her “indecent remarks” and said the matter would be dealt with legally and politically. There is currently no response from Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Environment, Forest and Endowments Minister Surekha, while talking to reporters, alleged that social media workers of BRS are targeting her online and defaming her by making derogatory comments against her.

Surekha also claimed that earlier the opposition party had made “derogatory” comments on Panchayati Raj Minister Dansari Anasuya Seethakka and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi. The minister alleged, “KTR was the reason behind the divorce of Naga Chaitanya and Samantha….” Responding, Nagarjuna asked the minister to respect the privacy of the people. Nagarjuna said in a post on social media, “As a woman holding a responsible position, your comments and allegations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to immediately withdraw your comments.” Opposition party BRS termed Surekha’s comments on party working president KTR as “petty and disgusting”.

BRS said on its official handle on ‘X’, “Rahul Gandhi, you talk about Constitution and democracy, your party leader speaks like this. Listen to his comments, they are a disgrace to politics. This is how Priyanka Gandhi, a leader and minister of your party, talks about women and celebrities, dragging their personal lives into politics.” BIS said that the Congress Party no longer has any moral basis to preach about the Constitution or its values. The opposition party said, “Such stupidity will be dealt with in an appropriate and political manner.” “Your leaders are only digging a grave for their party with their indecent and indecent comments.”
