Terrorists attack army vehicle in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir; five soldiers martyred

Kathua/Jammu. Five soldiers were martyred and five others were injured in an ambush by terrorists on an army vehicle in Machedi area of ​​Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir. Officials gave this information. The terrorists targeted the army vehicles by hurling a grenade and firing. These vehicles were on a routine patrol on Machedi-Kindli-Malhar road at around 3.30 pm near Badnota village in Lohai Malhar, 150 km from Kathua city.

Officials said the security forces retaliated but the terrorists fled to the nearby forests. At the time of writing the news, intermittent firing was reported between the terrorists and the security forces. An official said, “A total of 10 soldiers were injured and 5 of them died due to injuries.” Officials said that additional security forces have been sent to the area to kill the terrorists. These terrorists are believed to have recently infiltrated from across the border and were moving to higher places. This is the second major incident in Kathua district in the last four weeks.

During the search and cordon operation, two terrorists were killed and a Central Reserve Police Force jawan lost his life in a fierce encounter on June 12 and 13. This terrorist attack took place within a fortnight of the encounter between terrorists and security forces in Doda district. In that encounter, three foreign terrorists were killed on June 26. Earlier, on June 9, terrorists attacked a bus carrying devotees from Shiv Khodi temple in Reasi district, in which nine people were killed and 41 others were injured.
