The Uncut

Raipur: The issue of Kamal Vihar was raised on the fourth day of the assembly session. Former minister and BJP MLA Rajesh Munat raised the issue of issuing tenders without changing the land use. Housing and Environment Minister OP Choudhary said that in the 2021 master plan, the city park was converted into a recreational park.

On the question of BJP MLA Rajesh Munat, Housing and Environment Minister OP Choudhary said that City Park was the land use in the 2021 Master Plan. The park was approved as per the approved plan of the Town Planning Scheme. There was also a provision of fund raising of Rs 40 lakh from this.

There was a city park in the 2021 masterplan. In the subsequent masterplan, recreational space was included. A firm named Shri G Kripa had bid for Rs 72 crore, higher than the base price. The land use was to be done by the firm, but it went to the commercial court demanding that the RDA do it. This matter is under arbitration. Rajesh Moonat said that a tender was issued to build a recreational park.

The minister of the previous government had kept the file with himself. A marriage palace cannot be built in the name of a recreational park. A plaque with the name of Mata Kaushalya was put up in Kamal Vihar. Today Kamal Vihar is immersed in darkness. RDA has to change the land use afresh from the Town and Country Planning Department. How was the tender issued without changing the layout?
