Dhamtari. A rewarded Naxalite has surrendered before the security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Naxal-affected Dhamtari district. Police officials gave this information on Thursday. Police officials said that Sitanadi Area Committee member, Naxal Deputy Commander Ajay (26) surrendered before the security forces. They said that the surrendered Naxalite had a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his head.
The official said that Ajay alias Aghan (26) was active as a “deputy commander” and area committee member of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) in Sitanadi. Officials said that Naxalite Ajay has decided to surrender after getting fed up with the hollow ideology, discriminatory behavior, neglect and harassment of the Maoists. He said that the Naxalite is accused of being involved in many Maoist incidents including murder of a villager, attack on a police team, planting landmines.
