The Uncut

Raipur. The Finance Department has approved the proposal to increase the grant on seed production and distribution of oilseed crops under the Akti Seed Promotion Scheme under the Farmers’ Overall Development Scheme.

On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, approval has been given to increase the seed production and distribution subsidy for oilseed crops from Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 per quintal. If this proposal is approved, oilseed producing farmers will especially benefit. It is noteworthy that since the beginning of Akti Seed Promotion Scheme, no increase in seed production and distribution subsidy had been made till now. Now an additional grant of Rs 500 per quintal will be given on seed production and distribution of oilseed crops, which will help farmers in improving the quality of seeds and increasing production.

The objective of this initiative of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai is to provide financial assistance to the farmers as well as promote the cultivation of oilseed crops. With this increase, farmers will be encouraged to cultivate oilseed crops and will also use better seeds to ensure higher yield of oilseeds. This initiative will not only increase the productivity of oilseed crops but will also increase the income of farmers.
