There is no ideology left in political parties of Maharashtra: Akbaruddin Owaisi

The Uncut

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Tuesday accused the political parties of Maharashtra of having no ideology left in them. Also said that people doing divisive politics are calling him communal.

He also said that this country belongs to all communities equally – whether they wear turbans or caps or those who apply tilak on their forehead. Telangana AIMIM MLA Owaisi was addressing a public rally organized at Amkhas Ground here to campaign for his party candidates Imtiaz Jaleel and Naseer Siddiqui. Jaleel is contesting from Aurangabad East while Siddiqui is contesting from Aurangabad Central in the Maharashtra Assembly elections to be held on November 20.

He said, “Our party (AIMIM) raises the voice of Muslims, Dalits, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Marathas. I do not give inflammatory speeches. Those who talk about ‘if you divide you will be divided’, they call me communal.” Akbaruddin Owaisi said, “Mob killing, ‘ghar wapsi’, debate on cap and beard and discrimination between Hindu-Muslim – don’t such things make the country weak?”

Owaisi also targeted the major political parties of Maharashtra. He said, “There were four major political parties in 2019. But now there are two Shiv Sena and two NCP. These parties joined hands with people of different ideologies. But, did Congress teach secularism to its alliance partner Shiv Sena (UBT) or did Shiv Sena (UBT) teach Hindutva to Congress. There is no ideology left in the parties of Maharashtra.”
