Jashpur. Union Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will lead a padyatra with more than 10,000 ‘My Bharat’ youth volunteers in Jashpur, Chhattisgarh on November 13 on the occasion of ‘Tribal Pride Day’. This padyatra will be undertaken to remember the legacy of Birsa Munda and his contribution to the tribal communities and nation building. The objective of organizing this walk is to commemorate tribal heritage, promote inclusion and raise awareness about government schemes benefiting tribal communities. On this occasion, volunteers will promote the spirit of protection and conservation of tribal culture, heritage and tradition.
Birsa Munda was a freedom fighter who led the tribal movement that began in the Bengal Presidency (now Jharkhand) in the late 19th century, making him an important figure in the history of the country’s independence movement. The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports said in a statement on Sunday, “The Padyatra (foot march) will start from Komodo village and cover a distance of seven kilometers and will end at Ranjit Stadium here. “This foot march will unite youth, tribal leaders and community members in a vibrant celebration of tribal heritage and spirit.” Apart from Mandaviya, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai will also participate in this padyatra.
