Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today inspected the ‘Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Tribal Freedom Fighter Museum’ being built near the Tribal Research and Training Institute in Nava Raipur. This museum dedicated to the tribal brave freedom fighters of Chhattisgarh is being constructed on about 10 acres of land at a cost of Rs 45 crore. Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam also accompanied the Chief Minister to see the progress of the work. Chief Minister Sai observed the statues, other artifacts and various models in the museum. He discussed with the craftsmen making the statues and got information about their art.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Sai said that the Tribal Museum will become a major center of tribal pride of Chhattisgarh. This museum, centered on the patriotism of Chhattisgarh’s tribal freedom fighters, their valor and sacrifices, is a unique effort to preserve Chhattisgarh’s glorious heritage. He instructed the departmental officials and representatives of the construction agency to complete the museum works with quality within the stipulated time frame. The Chief Minister said that through the museum, our young generation and future generations will get a chance to know their history. This museum will also be a center of attraction for people interested in knowing tribal culture and civilization. Here, one will get a chance to know more closely all the tribal freedom fighters of the state, including Chhattisgarh’s first freedom fighter Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh.
Principal Secretary of Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department, Sonamni Bora informed that 15 galleries are being constructed in this museum, in which important events of Chhattisgarh’s tribal freedom struggle – Halba rebellion, Surguja rebellion, Bhopal-Patnam rebellion, Paralkot rebellion, Lingagiri rebellion, Koi rebellion, Maria rebellion, Muria rebellion, Rani-Cho-Ris rebellion, Bhumkal rebellion, Sonakhan rebellion, Jhanda Satyagraha, Jungle Satyagraha etc. will be displayed through live models. In the museum, the lifestyle of the tribals living in Chhattisgarh state, clothing, jewellery, music, musical instruments, weapons used in hunting and items used in daily life will be displayed in their real environment.
On this occasion, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, Commissioner Tribal and Scheduled Caste Development Department Narendra Kumar Dugga, Director Tribal Research and Training Institute P.S. Elma were also present.
In Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial cum Tribal Freedom Fighter State Museum, a fiber statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, his memorial, hanging place, a small lake and landscape will be constructed. Statues of brave tribal freedom fighters will be installed in the museum. Facilities like reception, souvenir shop, food court, multimedia room, toilet, parking will be developed. Solar system will be installed on the roof of the complex and the main entrance of the museum will be decorated with beautiful tribal art work. In this museum, craftsmen from Baroda, Kolkata, Odisha, Hyderabad, Delhi, Jharkhand and Bihar are working under the leadership of curator Prabal Ghosh to prepare statues and artistic tribal artifacts. The Chief Minister also visited the library at the Tribal Research and Training Institute, and the models of important events of the tribal freedom struggle of Chhattisgarh. During the visit to the library, Tribal Development Minister Ramvichar Netam scanned the QR code printed in the book ‘Adi Naad’ focused on Chhattisgarh tribal folk musical culture from his mobile. On scanning, the tune of the musical instrument is heard.
