Anoop Paswan/Korba. The central government has made a new law in the case of hit and run. In this, there is a provision of imprisonment of 7 to 10 years and fine against the driver of the vehicle causing the accident who runs away from the spot after the accident. Drivers are on strike across the country protesting against this stringent law. The impact of this protest has reached Korba.

Supporting the strike, drivers of trucks, buses and taxis also went on strike. Goods transport here was affected due to non-operation of goods carriers. However, Chhattisgarh Traffic Federation Divisional Vice President Brijesh Tripathi said that no strike has been appealed by the union. People have gone on strike due to confusion. To make people aware and end the strike, the Superintendent of Police himself is reaching the spot and appealing to end the strike and is giving information about the new law.

Strike status due to incomplete information
According to SP Jitendra Shukla, the law has been made regarding hit and run. It will cover those drivers who run away from the spot after the accident and do not inform the police either themselves or through others. In case of an accident, the accused driver will be given relief if he takes the injured to the hospital and informs the police. A situation of strike is being created due to incomplete information regarding the law being spread on social media.

Inform the police after the accident

According to District Advocates Association Secretary Nutan Singh Thakur, according to the new provision made on hit and run, the driver who runs away after causing an accident will have to pay a fine along with a jail term of 10 years. If you do not inform the police after the accident and run away, it will be considered as hit and run. The driver who will surrender himself after the accident or will inform the police administration. Hit and run case will not apply to him.
