Paris. Indian badminton players Tulsimati Murugesan and Manisha Ramdas won silver and bronze medals respectively in the women’s singles SU5 event of the Paralympics here on Monday. Top seed Tulsimati, 22, lost 17-21 10-21 to defending champion Yang Qiu Xia of China in the final.
Second seed Manisha won the bronze medal by defeating third seed Katherine Rosengren of Denmark 21-12 21-8. The SU5 category is for those players who have a disorder in their upper limbs. It can be in the playing hand or the other hand. Before these two medals in the Paris Paralympics, Nitesh Kumar gave India its first gold medal in badminton in the current games in the SL3 category.
