Jashpur. A villager has died and another person has been injured in a wild elephant attack in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. Officials gave this information on Thursday. Officials said that Asit Tigga (45) was killed and Anil Kispotta was seriously injured in a wild elephant attack near Agadih village in the district.
He told that this morning an elephant, separated from its group, had entered the forest of Mariam Toli of Agdih village from Jharkhand side. During this time, Asit Tigga and Arvind Kispotta, who were going from the village to the forest in the morning, encountered an elephant.
Officials said that the wild elephant attacked both of them. In this attack, Tigga died on the spot and Kispotta was seriously injured.
He said that after getting information about the incident, a forest department team was sent to the spot. Injured Kispotta has been admitted to the hospital. Officials said that Rs 25,000 have been given as immediate financial assistance to the family members of Tigga, who was killed in the attack.
