Kolkata: The protesting junior doctors on Wednesday sent an email to West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant, demanding a discussion to resolve some crucial “unresolved issues” such as security in hospitals, as their pre-condition for ending the protest.
The doctors raised the issue of safety and security inside government hospital premises and included details of the formation of a special task force headed by the chief secretary in the agenda of the proposed meeting. In their email, they wrote, “With reference to our last meeting with the Chief Minister, we would like to reiterate that there were some major points in relation to our five-point demands that remained unresolved. In particular, our fourth and fifth issues related to the development of the healthcare system, security, safety and the culture of the current threatening environment have not been resolved.”
