The Uncut

Reva. A court in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa district has sentenced a 24-year-old woman to death for killing her mother-in-law by stabbing her more than 95 times. Additional Public Prosecutor Vikas Dwivedi said that Fourth Additional Sessions Judge Padma Jatav has convicted Kanchan Kol for killing her 50-year-old mother-in-law Saroj Kol.

He said Kanchan, a resident of Atraila village in the Mangwa police station area, was accused of killing her mother-in-law by stabbing her more than 95 times following a domestic quarrel on July 12, 2022. He said the victim was alone at home at the time of the incident. Her son later informed the police and took her to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. The public prosecutor said victim Saroj Kol’s husband Valmik Kol was also made a co-accused in the case but was acquitted due to lack of evidence.
