Raipur: A two-day workshop was organized today from 19/09/2024 on tourism survey and tourism statistics collection under the joint aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. In this workshop, data collection of domestic and foreign tourists visiting various tourist places, hotels, resorts and other places in the state for tourism development, its importance and the role of the Tourism Board were highlighted.
This workshop was organized under the guidance of Mr. Vivek Acharya, Managing Director of Chhattisgarh Tourism Board and Mr. Sandeep Thakur, Deputy General Manager. Mr. Amit Kumar, Assistant Director and Mr. Jyoti Ranjan Majumdar, Senior Advisor (NPC) from Ministry of Tourism, New Delhi gave training on various techniques of tourist data collection.
In the last session of the first day of the workshop, Secretary of Chhattisgarh Government Tourism Department Mr. Anbalgan P. addressed the entire team and said that our main objective should be to focus on branding Chhattisgarh tourism and providing proper information to tourists. The purpose of tourism survey and compilation of data is also that we can attract more and more tourists to Chhattisgarh.
He emphasized that continuous efforts should be made to improve the experience of tourists. Under this, it is necessary to provide training to the local people from time to time, appoint local guides, and establish a good communication with the tourists, so that they take a great experience from here and plan to visit the tourist places of Chhattisgarh again in the future.
Shri Anbalagan P. directed to work on a plan to connect all the hotels under the Tourism Board with integrated software. He said that this software will help in knowing whether the number of tourists is increasing or not and in which direction we should make more efforts in the future.
