Police officials said that 18 people died when their vehicle fell into Banjari Ghat at around 1:45 pm near Bahpani village under Kukdur police station area of ​​the district. There are 17 women among the dead.

He told that the villagers living in Kui village had gone to the forest to collect tendu leaves and when they were returning to their village in a pickup vehicle, the vehicle fell into Banjari Ghat near Bahpani village. Officials said that according to the information received, the vehicle first fell off the road and collided with the road at the bottom of the valley and crashed. He said that after receiving information about the incident, a police team was sent to the spot and rescue operations were started.

Kabirdham district superintendent of police Abhishek Pallav said, “12 women and one man died on the spot in the accident, while nine others were injured.” Pallav said, “The police team sent the injured to the hospital where five other women died.” He said that four other injured, including three women, are being sent to hospitals with better facilities for treatment.
Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has expressed grief over the incident and has directed the district administration to provide better treatment to the injured.
